Hello everyone, Our next meeting will be September 27, 2016 at 8:00pm at the Bethel Municipal Center. The following meeting will be on October 25, 2016. Please be sure to read the “Old Business” and “New Business” sections for important information regarding the new raffle process and voting on new officer positions.

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:07pm

ATTENDANCE: 25

  • Gold closed at 1337/ozt. Silver closed at 18.83/ozt.
  • I still have tables available for the December 11th show.
  • The October 30th show is sold out

DUES ARE DUE AT THE SEPTEMBER MEETING $10/year. DUES MUST BE PAID IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE CHRISTMAS BRUNCH ON DECEMBER 18th.

Old Business:

  • Roger: change in raffle, proposing a $2each ticket price with a more valuable prize (silver eagle)
    • Motion to have a $2 raffle price with an auction item of a Silver Eagle, donated by Phil Jones (who will be paid for the raffle item after the meeting) Starting September 2016 meeting. Ron will continue bringing a raffle donation for the second prize until he runs out of items (proof set, or the like) Motion: (Mike E.) Second: Roger.    Result: In favor: 17 Opposed: 0 Abstain: 1
  • We received a letter of thanks to the club from the Cancer Research Fund at Yale New Haven Hospital.

New Business:

Potential dates for Christmas Brunch.  Sunday December 4, 2016 (our usual 1st Sunday) or If unavailable Sunday December 18, 2016. Tara will be looking into the Ethan Allen Hotel and The Redding Road House for theses dates. We will be voting on locations at a future meeting.
  • The Vietnam Traveling Wall will be visiting New Milford, CT on October 27-30. They will be selling Medallions to support the traveling wall exhibit. The cost for the two-inch, 24K gold adorned medallion, in a valor case is $30 to pick up at the event or $35 for them to ship it to you. Checks should be made payable to “The Wall That Heals” and mailed to the American Legion Post 31, 377 Kent Rd, New Milford, CT 06776.
  • Our President has stepped down from his position. We will hold our regular vote for positions in October, Nominations will be in September. In the meantime the Vice President and treasurer will be taking the responsibilities of the President.
    • Motion to have Ron as interim President until October elections – Howard, second: Tara Result: Passed (no contest)
  • Nominations for Officer Positions will be in September All positions are available: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Auctioneer.
    • Voting will be in October.

July 26, 2016 Meeting

Hello Everyone,
Our next meeting will be on July 26, 2016 at 8:00pm at the Bethel Municipal Center. The following meeting will be on August 23, 2016.

The president was absent so the Vice President ran the meeting.
Nick called the meeting to order at 8:03pm. There were 17 in attendance.

Secretary Report:
Gold closed at 1314.40/ozt and Silver closed at 17.75/ozt. The October 30th coin show is sold out. I still have tables available for December 11. We had one new guest in attendance, Rick, who collects all types of coins.

Secretary Report: Meeting was called to order at 8:11pm. We had 24 members in attendance. And two new guests: William, who collects all types of coins, but especially Morgan dollars; and Val, who mostly collects baseball cards, but also collects and makes elongated cents.  Gold closed at 1095.80 and Silver closed at 14.69. The upcoming coin show on 9/13/2015 will be at the Ethan Allen Hotel 9:00am – 4:00pm

Secretary Report: We had 18 members in attendance. Gold Closed at $1188.20/ Ounce, Silver Closed at $16.72/ounce. Our May 17th coin show went very well, we have over 150 people in attendance. Our next coin Show will be 9/13/2015, at this point I have 39 out of 43 tables sold.

Treasurers Report: No Report. Treasurer was absent.

Old Business:

-Frank will look into booking us a Summer party at one of the Bethel parks.

-Frank will be purchasing 2 tables as our gift to the Senior Center when they are on sale

-Please bring in any donations such as: Toiletries, Towels, Toothpaste, Washcloths, etc… we will be collecting them this meeting, June 23rd and Rick will bring them to Dorothy Day for us.

Minutes from our meeting on: 4/28/2015

We had 23 members in attendance. Gold Closed at $1212.10/ Ounce, Silver Closed at $16.58/ounce.

Treasurers Report:

Expenses(Last Month): $18.73 for donuts.

From the March meeting: The Club took in  $27.00 for the raffle, $7.75 in Auction fees and $12.50 for the good of the Club. Good of the club items were donated by Phil Jones, and Howard Hill.

The Club has the following money assets; $731.84 in Petty Cash and $9,384.91 in the bank

Old Business:

-A motion was made in March to make a donation to Dorothy Day and Green Chimneys Charitable organizations, to give $500 to each organization. It was brought to our attention that the Green Chimneys organization is in NY, and we would like to change that donation to go towards Ann’s Place in Danbury, CT. Motion made by Jim, Seconded by Roger. Result: Passed by voice vote.
